A thickened square bed with a quilted surface and low sides. Warmer and softer underfoot than a firm orthopaedic mattress.
This is a winter bed. The extra loft traps heat, which suits short-coated dogs, small dogs that burrow, and anyone whose dog sleeps on a tiled or timber floor through the colder months.
Sizes
Small — suits dogs 2.5–5kg
Medium — suits dogs 5–15kg
Large — suits dogs 5–25kg
XL — suits dogs 5–50kg
Note these are the manufacturer's weight bands, and weight is a rough guide at best. A 25kg Staffy and a 25kg Whippet have very different footprints — the Staffy is compact, the Whippet is long. Measure rather than relying on the kilograms.
Before you order
Measure your dog stretched out on their side, nose to the base of the tail, and add 15cm for a curler or 30cm for a sprawler. We are confirming the centimetre dimensions for each size and will publish them here.

Loft and warmth, for cold floors and short coats
Not an orthopaedic bed, and we do not describe it as one. This is a thickened, quilted square built to trap heat.

The loft
Warmth is the job
The extra thickness traps heat rather than providing structural support. That suits short-coated dogs, small dogs that burrow, and any dog sleeping on tile or timber through the colder months.
Quilted surface, thickened loft
The sides
Low enough to walk into
Low sides rather than a bolster. A dog steps in rather than climbing, and can drape over the edge if they want to — which small dogs frequently do.
Low sides on all edges
The honesty
This one is not orthopaedic
It has no supportive foam base, so it is not in our orthopaedic range and does not appear in that collection. If your dog needs support rather than warmth, take The Plain or The Ridge instead. We would rather say so here than sell you the wrong bed.
Softness, not structural supportWho this one suits, and who it doesn't
We would rather talk you out of the wrong bed than sell it to you. Both lists below are honest.
Take this one if
- Short-coated dogs and small dogs that burrow
- Tiled or timber floors in winter
- Dogs that want soft rather than supportive
Look elsewhere if
- Dogs that need a supportive base — this is not an orthopaedic bed and we do not list it as one
- Hot Australian summers. It is built to trap heat, which is the opposite of what you want in January
Not sure which way you fall? Send us your dog's measurement and we will tell you which bed takes it — including when the answer is none of them.
What owners say
No reviews yet. We're a new Australian store, and we only publish reviews from real orders, good or bad. Bought this bed? Tell us how it's going and we'll send you 15% off your next order as a thank-you for an honest review.
Write a reviewThe build, and what we haven't confirmed
Every figure here is one we can stand behind. Where a number is still with the manufacturer we say so rather than estimating it.
- Shape
- Square, quilted, low sides
- Base
- Padded loft — not a supportive foam slab
- Sizes
- S, M, L and XL
- Colours
- Brown, Grey, Off-white
- Not yet published
- Centimetre dimensions per size — being confirmed with the manufacturer
- Deliberately removed
- The manufacturer's dog-weight bands. They overlapped each other and weight is a poor guide to footprint

Questions we get about the Quilt
Specific to this one, not the range. If yours is not here, ask.
Thirty days from delivery to change your mind, on an unused bed in its packaging — you cover the return freight, which on a bed this bulky is usually $25 to $60.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, that is different: we cover everything, freight included. Your consumer guarantees under Australian law apply whatever this or any other page says.
Why did you remove the weight guide?
Because the manufacturer's bands overlapped to the point of uselessness — the XL was listed as suiting 5 to 50 kg. Weight is a rough guide at best anyway: a 25 kg Staffy and a 25 kg Whippet have completely different footprints. Measure the dog instead.
Is this an orthopaedic bed?
No. It has no supportive foam base, so it is not in the orthopaedic collection and we do not use the word for it. If support is what you are after rather than warmth, look at The Plain or The Ridge.
How do I pick a size?
The centimetres are still being confirmed, so send us your dog's measurement — nose to the base of the tail lying stretched, plus 15 cm for a curler or 30 cm for a sprawler — and we will tell you which size takes it.
Can it be washed?
Check the care label on arrival for the wash temperature. Quilted construction takes longer to dry through than a flat cover, so allow for that before washing it on a wet week.
