The Capsule — Acrylic Cat Bed

A clear acrylic dome that mounts to a wall or sits within a shelf, forming an enclosed bed with a view out.

It plays to two things cats want at once and rarely get together: a high vantage point and an enclosed space. Mounted at height it gives a cat somewhere to watch a room from without being underfoot, which is genuinely useful in a small flat or a busy household.

Size by your cat curled, not stretched — a capsule is a curling space, not a sprawling one. A large cat in a 30cm capsule will not settle.

Before you order

This needs mounting, and the fixing has to suit your wall type. Plasterboard needs proper anchors rather than the screws supplied with most flat-pack fittings, and the fitting has to hold a cat's full weight plus the force of them jumping into it.

If you are not confident about the wall, use it on a sturdy shelf instead — it works the same way at lower height.
