Big dogs are where sizing goes wrong most often, because the gap between a bed that fits and a bed your dog hangs off is only a few centimetres. Two things help.
First, measure rather than trusting a breed chart. No breed standard published anywhere gives nose-to-tail length, so any chart that assigns a bed size to a breed name is guessing — including the ones that look authoritative.
Second, remember the rim. On a bolster or sofa bed it takes ten to twenty centimetres off every edge, so two beds with the same footprint can give your dog very different amounts of room. We publish the external size on every bed and tell you where the rim eats into it.

Measure, do not trust a breed name
No breed standard published anywhere gives nose-to-tail length, so any chart matching a bed to a breed is working from something other than the standard. Two minutes with a tape measure beats it.

I'm between two sizes. Which way?
Up, and more firmly the deeper the rim. On a bolster bed the jump in external size is often larger than the jump in usable space, so the bigger bed buys you less than the number suggests. On a flat mattress size up too — there is no rim to make it feel oversized.
Will anything here fit a Great Dane?
Measure first — nose to the base of the tail lying stretched, plus 30cm for a sprawler. Giant breeds routinely need 135cm and sometimes more than we carry. Send us the number and we will tell you honestly if nothing here takes it.
Why is delivery slower on the biggest beds?
Because they exceed the cubic-weight ceiling for standard parcel post and go as freight instead. We say so on the product page rather than at your door.
Do big beds flatten faster?
A heavy dog concentrates more weight on the same hip and shoulder points, so the base matters more, not less. Everything in this collection sits on a supportive foam base rather than loose fill for exactly that reason.
