The Flat — Washable Orthopedic Dog Mattress
A flat foam mattress in a zip-off cover. No rim, no sides, no shape to work around.
For dogs that sprawl. A bolster bed forces a big dog to fold, and plenty of them give up and hang off the edge instead. A flat mattress gives them the whole surface, and it is the easiest shape to fit into a crate, under a desk, or alongside a bed.
Large — 60 × 40cm
XL — 75 × 45cm
XXL — 100 × 70cm
On a flat mattress the external size and the usable sleeping area are almost the same thing, because there is no rim taking up room. That makes this the easiest shape to size and the most forgiving if you are between two.
Measure your dog stretched out on their side, nose to the base of the tail — not the tip — and add 15cm if they curl, 30cm if they sprawl.
If you land between sizes on this bed, size up. There is no rim to make the larger one feel oversized in the room.
Our method
Most listings give the outside of the bed. That number includes the bolster, which your dog cannot lie on.
We publish the external footprint in centimetres and tell you where the rim eats into it. We are measuring the internal area and will publish it as it is confirmed.
Plain language
Anyone can print the word on a bag of polyester fill.
We publish what each bed is made of rather than just the word. We don’t claim a bed treats anything — that’s a question for your vet.
What we don’t know yet
It is also the one most stores never print. We are collecting verified figures with test reports from our manufacturers.
Until a figure is evidenced we will not print it. An unsupported number is worth less than an honest gap.
